Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where do I start?

A: CALL US FIRST! If you have a claim number, just give us the name of your insurance company and your claim information. Many times we can establish your claim and put you in a rental car in minutes.

Q: Where do I get a claim number?

A: Claim numbers are issued by your insurance company when you establish your claim. If you have not reported your claim, simply give us your proof of insurance card and we will assist you through the process.

Q: Can I get a rental?

A: Generally, most customers do not know whether or not they have rental coverage. We will contact your insurance company and find out on your behalf and get you on your way in minutes. If you don't have rental coverage we will work to get you the best rate and in some cases arrange for a complimentary loaner.

Q: What if my frame is bent?

A: Modern vehicles are equipped with frames and unibodies that are designed to bend in a collision as a safety mechanism. We have computerized measuring systems and repair equipment to make any correction needed. If we feel the frame or unibody is too badly damaged, we also have the equipment to replace part, or all, of your vehicles' frame or unibody. After repair or replacement to the vehicle frame or unibody is complete, we perform a computerized four wheel alignment and a diagnostic report is printed confirming precise alignment.

Q: Will my paint match?

A: Westside Body and Paint guarantees that our paint will match and will not fade as long as you own your vehicle. We use water-based color coats and urethane clear coats identical to your vehicle manufacturer. We then bake the finish in our paint booth to ensure the repair will match your original finish in color, texture, and durability.

Q: Is my repair guaranteed?

A: Yes, repairs are covered by a limited lifetime warranty for as long as you own the vehicle.

Q: What if the accident wasn't my fault, who's insurance should I use?

A: You have the option of having your insurance provider settle your claim, or allowing the at-fault partys insurance provider settle the claim. We feel some insurance companies are easier to work with for all parties involved, depending on the circumstances. This could mean a quicker turnaround on your repair. If asked, we will be happy to help!

Q: The insurance company said I have to use their shop, can I still have you repair my car?

A: Yes, by California state law, you have the right to take your vehicle to the repair facility of your choice at no extra cost to you. Some Insurance companies do partner with repair facilities that agree to use aftermarket, or non-original parts. Westside Body and Paint only partners with insurance companies that allow us to use original factory parts.

Q: Who do I pay my deductible to, and when do I pay?

A: Your deductible is paid to Westside Body and Paint when repairs are completed to your satisfaction.

Q: What types of payment do you accept?

A: We accept insurance checks, personal checks, cash and all major credit cards.

Q: Can I drop my car off early?

A: Yes, we have a secure key drop box. We can also arrange for early or late drop off and delivery.

Q: How long will my repair take?

A: After we disassemble the damaged parts, we will contact you with an estimated completion date. You will be updated regularly as repairs proceed. If for some reason the repairs will not be completed when promised, such as hidden mechanical damage, you will be notified immediately with an updated completion date. If repairs are delayed because of a mistake on our part, you will be furnished with a rental car free of charge.
